otheby's is delighted to present our annual December auction celebrating the artistry and unparalleled creative vision of Louis Comfort Tiffany: Dreaming in Glass: Masterworks by Tiffany Studios, featuring works from The Schur Family Collection.
This season, we are especially honored to present two Tiffany masterpieces from The Schur Family Collection. Leading the sale is one of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s greatest triumphs in glass—the magnificent and iconic "Magnolia" Floor Lamp. The lamp's sophisticated and artistic glass selection distinguishes it as one the finest examples of the Magnolia to appear at auction in many decades. Also on offer is a rare and striking "Poinsettia" Chandelier, illustrative of the supreme artistry and craftsmanship that defines the very best of Tiffany's leaded glass lamps.
Equally remarkable are two exceptional leaded glass windows, also making their auction debut. The Thomas Memorial "Medallion" Window from the First Presbyterian Church of Topeka, Kansas is the largest and most elaborate Tiffany Medallion window ever to come to market, resplendent with hand-chiseled glass jewels in a wide range of gem-like tones. Also on offer is a luminous triptych window depicting a garden pond scene of irises, cattails, and dogwoods from the Collection of Kenneth Rubin.
Dreaming in Glass also explores the full range of artistic mediums that define the full scope and legacy of Louis Comfort Tiffany's artistic brilliance. The sale showcases the firm's renowned lamp productions, from lush floral designs to striking geometric and Moorish models, as well as exquisite vases in Favrile glass, and an enchanting array of "Fancy Goods."
Property will be on view in Sotheby’s New York galleries from December 5-9, 2025.
