folio (380 x 305mm.), title printed in red and black with decorative border highlighted in gold, dedication leaf printed in gold, coloured and gilt decorative headpieces and borders, photographic illustrations, a few colour illustrations tipped in, original illustrated boards with cloth spine, binding somewhat rubbed


The Feodorovksy Cathedral in Tsarskoe Selo was built by the architect Vladimir Pokrovsky on the orders of Nicholas II between 1909 and 1912, for the use of the imperial guard and the imperial family; it was closed by the authorities in the early 1930s and was restored to the Orthodox Church in 1991.


Loosely inserted are two printed receipts for this publication, dated 1915. This work was also issued in a deluxe version with an embroidered binding.
