4to (233 x 175mm.), engraved device on title-page, woodcut initials and headpieces, 9 woodcut plates (3 folding, 3 double-page), woodcut diagrams, contemporary limp vellum, possibly lacking 2 plates, textblock splitting after first quire, one plate torn without loss, one plate somewhat stained at foot, other occasional light staining


Busca (c. 1540-1604) was a military architect and skilled bombardier working for the Duke of Savoy.


ICCU specifies 11 folding plates, but the Cottesloe copy (sale, Sotheby's, 19 November 2019, lot 66) also contained 9 plates.
