Le Nozze di Figaro Dramma Giocoso in Quattro Atti [full score], Paris: Frey, Successeur de MM.rs Cherubini, et al., [1811-1812]
FIRST EDITION, early issue, 2 volumes, 2 leaves, 129, 186, 116 and 127 pages, folio (33.5 x 25.3cm), plate number 566 (366 on title), engraved throughout, text in Italian and French, publisher's signature stamp on title and elsewhere, priced at 60 francs, contemporary vellum boards with modern remarbled covers, some browning and spotting, some damp-staining, a few small marks
The first edition of the full score is reckoned by Fuld to have been that of Au Magasin de Musique (1806-1809). The present edition is an early reissue by Frey, who acquired the business of Au Magasin de Musique in 1811. The address on the imprint is 'Rue de Richelieu N.o 76', from which Frey moved in or just before December 1812. A vocal score of the opera had been published by Simrock as early as 1796.
