Admission card, initialed "G.C.," to The American Indian Collection lecture on the "Description of the leading Customs of the American Indians," circa 1840s


One page (181 x 111mm), on a folded leaf. Letterpress text, signed ("G.C.") in sepia ink, with two manuscript edits (corrected to Friday 9th January); old folds, a few stray spots and some faint soiling. [With:] 1 page (198 x 124mm) autograph letter signed ("Thomas Hodgkin"), dated 20 April 1852; light toning, old folds.


The letter from Thomas Hodgkin, addressed to "My dear friend," is "calling a meeting of the friends of G Catlin & I am increasingly of opinion that we may do him good thereby."
