A George II green japanned quarter repeating table clock, Daniel Torin, London, circa 1750


7-inch dial with rococo spandrels, matted centre with mock pendulum and date apertures, the arch with a strike silent dial signed Danl. Torin, London, No.2384, all inset with white pastes, the fusee movement with six knopped pillars, rack striking on a bell and pull quarter repeating on a nest of six bells, the foliate engraved backplate signed as the dial, the case with inverted bell top, replaced flambeau finials and moulded base, the whole decorated in gilt with trellis, flowers and leaves on a green ground
