Raised-letter printing; first page of the Declaration of Independence browned at inner margin, a few marginal chips, stray spots, perforated "Forbes Library Northampton Massachusetts" stamp to first and last leaves, not affecting text. In later blue wrappers, cover lettered in gilt; lightly rubbed at extremities.

A raised-letter printing of the two foundational documents of the United States of America. Embossed letter types of the kind present here were largely replaced by the braille system in the twentieth century.
