A reprint of the 1558 Muret edition of the elegiac poets (see lots 282 and 283), bound with another commentary on Tibullus by Aquiles Estaço (first published by Paolo Manuzio in 1566).

binding: Contemporary Parisian smooth calf with gilt arabesque oval centerpiece with double gilt fillet border (154 x 107 mm), flat spine richly gilt, gilt edges, small gilt armorial of the Duke of Sutherland on lower cover [British Armorial Bindings stamp 6]. (Both joints cracked, upper joint weak, spine slightly chipped and creased, corners rubbed.)
