Alla quale oltre all'essere stati dall'istesso autore rivisti, meglio ordinati, e di diversi disegni, e discorsi arricchiti i primi quattro libri per l'adietro stampati, sono aggiunti di piu il quinto, sesto, settimo e ottavo libro. (Venice: [Paolo Manuzio], 1567)


A tall copy, with all the woodcuts untrimmed. An expanded and rearranged version of Cataneo's 1554 architectural treatise (see lot 261), this time dedicated to Francesco de' Medici; Siena had in the meantime become incorporated into the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.


Folio (364 x 250 mm). Roman type, 55 lines plus headline. collation: [*2] A-Z4 2A4 2B2 2C4: 104 leaves. Title within woodcut architectural border, woodcut initials and illustrations (some full-page, two diagrams double-page), woodcut Aldine device (printed twice) on final verso. (Title-page lightly stained at head, G3v-4r slightly soiled, last few quires with slight cocking and occasional light browning.)


binding: Later limp vellum stained dark green, with slits for two pairs of ties. (Binding somewhat rubbed, with later endpapers.)
