On 14 December, Sotheby’s will present Tiffany: Dreaming in Glass featuring masterworks from across the wide array of techniques and forms produced by Tiffany Studios. Highlights include works formerly in the collection of the Louis C. Tiffany Garden Museum in Japan, such as the masterfully executed and highly sculptural “Jack-in-the-Pulpit” enamel vase and extraordinary “Fish” Mosaic Panel. The sale’s selection of leaded glass lamps includes examples of Tiffany’s most iconic and highly sought-after designs, including a superb “Wisteria” Table Lamp, an “Arrowhead” Table Lamp with a rare “Cattail Pond Lily” Base, a rare “Trumpet Creeper” Chandelier, and an elaborate “Pebble” Table Lamp—a motif which is also represented in the auction in the form of two early “Pebble” panels. An exemplary group of Flower Form vases conveys the diversity Tiffany’s of blown favrile glass forms. Further highlights include a magnificent “Stream of Life” triptych window and a variety of Tiffany metalwares.
