Condition

Overall in very good condition. This lamp has been in the possession of a California family since the 1950s or earlier, and by all accounts the shade, base and heat cap have all originated together since the period. All of the inset pebbles and cut glass in the shade appear original, intact and undisturbed. Some of the pebbles show minor surface irregularities which are inherent in the natural qualities of the stone, and with a few sporadic internal hairlines (all stable, some possibly inherent) and a few very small and minor edge flecks to the quartz. The shade is very slightly out of round. The patinated surfaces of the "Bamboo" base and heat cap have been enhanced throughout, as a result of the prior finish showing considerable wear and patina loss. The bronze surfaces presently show light surface wear and rubbing, and small scattered traces of oxidation to the circular base beneath the bamboo fronds. An outstanding example of Tiffany's rare Pebble lamp shade, with an exceptional range of color to the Quartz. The shade and base pairing is charming and well proportioned.
