The Stifling Simplicity of a Salmon Pink 'Sofa'

Milan | November 2016

Italian artist Domenico Gnoli believed imagination and invention could not generate anything more beautiful than everyday objects. In his masterpiece, Sofa, his brushstrokes bring an ordinary object to life, inviting the viewer to touch and feel its ruggedness. The work is a highlight of Sotheby’s Arte Moderna e Contemporanea sale in Milan on 23-24 November.
