Few documents have shaped America like the Emancipation Proclamation, and its many lessons continue to have an impact on students today. Before the "Authorized Edition" of the Emancipation Proclamation, signed by President Abraham Lincoln, goes under the hammer in Sotheby's Two Centuries of American History sale on 25 May, students from East Side Middle School in Manhattan share what freedom means to them.
