Legendary Calligraphy from a Ming Dynasty Master

New York | 22 March

After the death of his son in 1502, Shen Zhou was heartbroken. Over the next year he would channel that anguish into a collection of poems that would come to define a school in Chinese Calligraphy. In this episode of Expert Voices, join Specialist Xian Fang, Classical Chinese Paintings, in an exploration of Poems on Falling Flowers in Running Script, an iconic selection of poetry that would help establish the Wu School. This incredibly rare work will be offered as a highlight of Sotheby’s Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy sale. (22 March | New York)
