Discover a life in the realm of tranquility | Cai Jia, Landscapes

Hong Kong |7 April

This album was painted in the year of genghai during the Qianlong reign (1743). It was first executed in ink, followed by a coloring process that was delayed for five years until the year of wuchen (1748) due to the artist's illness. The resulting artwork showcases a delicate composition and exquisite brushwork, exemplifying the artist's skill and expertise during the mid-career phase. Among the ten color landscapes, occasional self-composed poems by the artist grace the pages, along with three inscriptions that provide insight into the artist's inner thoughts and reflections.
