H ong Kong’s Luxury Week continues this month with an exquisite curation of the season’s finest jewels, watches, and handbags. Leading Important Watches on 24 April are three highly coveted enamel dial timepieces. High Jewelry (23 April) brings renowned names including Cartier, Bulgari, and Van Cleef & Arpels. For gemstones, the selection features Kashmiri sapphires, Colombian emeralds, and rubies from Burma, alongside a range of other exceptional stones chosen for their quality and beauty. Headlining the auction is a remarkable 28.88-carat The De Beers Jwaneng diamond from De Beers.
Finally, the luxury series ends with Handbags and Accessories (14–28 April), followed by Fine Jewelry (15–29 April), bringing the season to a dazzling close.
Concluding Hong Kong’s spring auction season will be an extraordinary day of live sales on 5 May headlined by Giuseppe Castiglione’s defining masterpiece, Gathering of Two Auspicious Signs. Single-owner collections lead the season, including Treasures of a Flourishing Age: The Songde Tang Collection of Ming Porcelain, featuring 25 rare and exquisite Ming dynasty imperial ceramics, and Chinese Archaic Jades from the Biao De Xuan Collection, bringing a vast collection of jades spanning Neolithic to Ancient China. Works of art from the esteemed collection of Mineo Hata returns with a carefully curated selection of early Buddhist and ancient art assembled over many decades.
Lastly, Chinese Art this spring features several highlights, among them, a thematic curation titled Zoomorphia: Animal Forms in Ancient China, a captivating group of Chinese works of art spanning from Ancient China to the cosmopolitan Tang dynasty, united by their exploration of animal forms as vessels of meaning and power.
