Upon touring the archives at the Rimowa Factory in Cologne, artist and designer Daniel Arsham became enamored with the brand’s revered vintage briefcases. In this First Look, get a behind-the-scenes peek at Arsham’s interpretation of Rimowa’s iconic attaché, crafted with his distinctive, near-scientific sculptural technique. Similar to his “Future Relic” series (2013-2018), Arsham toes the line between a romanticized take on archaeology and science fiction by reimagining the briefcase as if unearthed from an archaeological dig site in the year 3019.
