Modern and Vintage Timepieces at a Spectrum of Price Points from Watches Online Sale

Vacheron Constantin, Patrimony, REF 86020, White Gold Wristwatch with Day and Date, circa 2012
Estimate 12,000-18,000 CHF

This model is a slightly abstract take on a very classical watch. The case, in white gold, is crisp, and the dial clean and legible. The retrograde date functions add a level of complexity that is sure to please the collector’s eye. This model, still produced by Vacheron Constantin retails for over 40k USD so at the current estimate any potential buyer stands to get a lot of watch for the money!

A. Lange & Söhne, Saxonia Automatik, REF 315.033, Pink Gold Wristwatch with Date, circa 2009
Estimate 8,000-12,000 CHF

Quintessentially Lange, this automatic Saxonia encompasses all that collectors love about the brand. The case is neat and incredibly chic and the charcoal grey dial sits beautifully next to the 18k rose gold. The dial is further complemented by the large digital date apertures which can be changed at the press of the button to the band. This watch is equally suited to a casual or a formal look.

Cartier, Tank Francaise, REF 2302, Stainless Steel Wristwatch with Date and Bracelet, circa 2001
Estimate 1,000-2,000 CHF

The Cartier Tank has rightly become renowned as one of the most iconic watch designs in history and this lot certainly does nothing but uphold that reputation. This modern representation of the Tank Francaise is in superb condition and with its detachable bracelet offers the wearer lots of options. Just imagine it on a leather strap!

Vacheron Constantin, REF 4418, Yellow Gold Wristwatch with Fancy Lugs, circa 1948
Estimate: 3,000-5,000 CHF

This Vacheron absolutely screams mid-century and for those who know, this was a great time for case design. The case on this particular model was produced in 18k yellow gold by Eggly & Cie toward the very end of the 40s and is highlighted by wonderfully sculpted lugs that fill the watch with charm and character. Given the design of the case and the quality of the Vacheron’s movements this is an astounding piece for only 3000 – 5000 CHF.

IWC, Der Fliegerchronograph, REF 3706, Stainless Steel Chronograph Wristwatch with Day, Date and Bracelet, circa 2000
Estimate 2,000-4,000 CHF

IWC is well known for its chronograph watches and deservedly so. This particular reference, the 3706, has all the vintage appeal of their military pieces, with a size that makes it incredibly wearable and the addition day/date function for modern utility and again the bracelet is detachable making it all the more versatile. Sporty, chic and with a dash of the militaristic… if this watch was a guy I would marry him!

Breitling, Navitimer, REF 806, Stainless Steel Chronograph Wristwatch with Bracelet, circa 1960
Estimate 1,000-3,000 CHF

This watch truly is the real deal. Straight from the early 60s this Breitling Navitimer ticks all the vintage boxes and is in brilliant condition for a watch of its age. The lume has taken on good patina, and the dial is perfectly legible and the silvered subsidiary dials pop against the black backdrop. With age the watch has taken on whole new level of charm which would see it at home under the cuff of a bomber jacket or blazer.
