Launch Slideshow

Sotheby’s and VICE Media came together the evening of 24 February to celebrate the launch of “Like Art,” a video series currently airing on Creators. The collaborative effort of producer Ella Bishop, creator and director Pau Suris, director and editor Ferran Mendoza and host Oz Woloshyn, the new show explores the fascinating and ever-evolving relationship between contemporary art and social media, profiling artists whose work engages these platforms. “They’re in constant conversation with their audience,” said Woloshyn of the first season’s five subjects – Alexandra Marzella, Daniel Arnold, Yung Jake, Onderdonxx and Meriem Bennani. “They get feedback in real time to everything they post, so the audience becomes part of the work, shaping it much more than they had in the past,” added Woloshyn. “It’s continual adaption.” Guests were treated to a preview of each video as well a surprise performance by a contortionist and highlights from Sotheby’s upcoming Contemporary Curated auction.
