On 1 March Sotheby’s Toronto joined renowned public art space The Power Plant Gallery for Face to Face, the nonprofit’s 2018 benefit. Sotheby’s Eric Shiner led a dynamic conversation with artists Brendan Fernandes and Ellen Gallagher, the evening’s guest of honor, and Vancouver-based collector Bob Rennie. A silent auction followed with works by artists including Gallagher, Amalia Pica and An Te Liu. “We couldn't have achieved this without Sotheby's support,” said Power Plant director Gaetane Verna, who called the evening “thought-provoking” and “spirited.” Attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to talk with Fernandes, Gallagher and other distinguished artists, who were seated at each of the tables.
