On 7 May, David Schrader, Global Head of Private Sales, Contemporary Art, and Sotheby’s International Realty hosted a reception celebrating art, design and gracious living. Among the works on view were examples by such artists as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, Richard Prince, Tom Wesselmann as well as highlights from upcoming sales of Important Design and the collection of Delphine and Reed Krakoff. The centerpiece of the exhibition was French designer Jean Prouvé’s prefabricated house, offered privately by Sotheby’s and Paris dealer Patrick Seguin. Click ahead for images from the evening, and be sure to visit Sotheby’s New York galleries to experience the Prouvé house and view exhibitions of Impressionist & Modern and Contemporary masterworks ahead of our spring auctions.
