The Diamonstein-Spielvogel Collection is an unforgettable grouping of modern and contemporary masterworks on paper. Fittingly, the 27 October celebration of the collection at Sotheby’s was just as memorable. Following cocktails and an exhibition preview, 40 guests joined Tad Smith and Lisa Dennison of Sotheby’s for a dinner honouring Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel and Ambassador Carl Spielvogel in the elegantly appointed Library by Loro Piana. Dessert was served during a cabaret performance featuring a pianist with solos and duets sung by actress Ginna Le Vine and Robert Fairchild, the multitalented former New York City ballet principle dancer. The final act was a piece played by Metropolitan Opera conductor and pianist Nimrod David Pfeffer. Click ahead for scenes from a special evening.
