On 3 May, Sotheby’s Mexico City celebrated local cultural heritage with a private viewing including Mexican highlights from the upcoming Latin America: Modern Evening Sale in New York. At the daytime reception, Sotheby’s Lulu Creel, Director of the Mexico City office, and Anna Di Stasi, Vice President of Latin American Art, mingled with guests over champagne and cocktails at the location’s sleek new space. Featuring works by José Clemente Orozco, José María Velasco and Diego Rivera, the reception honoured Mexico’s national patrimony, exhibiting artworks that cannot permanently travel outside of the country.
