  A gilt-bronze-mounted tulipwood and amaranth régulateur after a design by Gilles-Paul Cauvet, the dial signed Causard Hger du Roi suivant la cour, the case stamped N Petit Louis XVI, circa 1770
  Estimate €40,000–60,000

  This model of lyre shaped case with a sunflower cresting known as a régulateur au tournesol was created by the designer and ornamentalist Gilles-Paul Cauvet before 1766 on the initiative of Jean-André Lepaute.

  A suite of chairs which were part of one of the most elegant interiors in Paris during the Café Society era. The comte Georges de Castellane and Florinda Fernández y Anchorena settled at 72 rue de Varenne, Paris in 1936, in the magnificent hôtel de Castries. Having incomparable taste and refinement, they redecorated the townhouse ground floor which opened onto a splendid garden and rendered it one of the most sought-after residences among Parisian high society.
