V&A Dundee

Dundee | United Kingdom

About the Museum

V&A Museum of Design Dundee is the first ever dedicated design museum in Scotland and the only other V&A museum anywhere in the world outside London.

Scotland is a nation of designers and innovators, from the invention of waterproof fabric by Charles Macintosh, to the pioneering work of Patrick Geddes in improving urban living conditions and creating modern town planning and Ian Callum’s leadership of design at Jaguar. However, the story of Scotland’s design heritage – and its ability to inspire new creativity for the future – has never been fully told. Now, for the first time, V&A Dundee brings together hundreds of historically significant objects from the V&A and collections across Scotland to tell this story in one place. Alongside, exhibition galleries host international touring exhibitions from the V&A, making Dundee the only location in the UK outside London to receive these globally significant exhibitions.
