his autumn, Sotheby’s Wine proudly presents Romanée-Conti: The Masterpiece Collection Part V, continuing the story of one of Europe’s finest private cellars. The collection reflects the enduring passion of a connoisseur deeply connected with the greatest names of Burgundy and Bordeaux.
At its heart lies a magnificent selection of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, spanning from Romanée-Conti 1995 to Richebourg 1967. Alongside these treasures is a distinguished collection of Domaine Leroy, ranging from remarkable grands crus to exquisite lieu-dits, all preserved in their original wooden cases. The sale showcases an impressive breadth and depth, reflecting the collector’s passion and refined taste.
The collection further expands to include Bordeaux’s most iconic châteaux, featuring wonderful old vintages from the 70s through the 90s, led by an Imperial bottle formats of 1985 Pétrus, 86 Lafite, 83 Margaux, and many other remarkable wines that will delight every Bordeaux enthusiast.
Completing this remarkable consignment is a fine array of back-vintage Hospices de Beaune wines, most in large formats, perfect for sharing and celebrating with friends and family. The collection was acquired either directly through the Domaines’ historic agents in Switzerland and London, or from the most reputable Sotheby’s Single Owner auctions of the 1990s and 2000s, and has since been impeccably stored in professional, temperature-controlled conditions in Geneva.
