Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online will present nearly 130 Chinese paintings and calligraphy across classical, modern and contemporary eras. The classical section, where a dozen of beautiful works from a North American family collection are featured, also includes works from private Japanese, Singapore and Hong Kong collections, highlighting paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasty, and an array of ‘flower and bird’ works and Buddhist art.
The modern section offers a series of important collections such as Zhang Daqian’s paintings from the Collection of Zhang Xinrui, Property of Sir Run Run Shaw, Property from the Collection of Professor Kang and Jessica Chao, and Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Huang Peiyi. The sale also gathers an array of calligraphies by late Qing government officials and modern politicians such as Feng Yuji and Xu Shichang. Also featured are works of artists from different regions and schools of arts, including He Shaoji, Pu Ru, Qi Baishi, Huang Junbi, and Zhao Shao’ang, as well as contemporary artists such as Zeng Xiaojun and Master of the Water, Pine and Stone retreat.
