S otheby’s Wine presents our second New York “Distilled!” sale of the year featuring an array of highly collectible spirits.
Leading the sale are expressions from The Macallan Distillery traversing their Fine & Rare Series and Six Pillars Collection. The Macallan distillery is famed for its richy sherried whiskies and the ability of its spirit to mature for decades. Indeed the oldest Macallan in this auction stands at 55 Years Old. Sotheby’s has enjoyed a great relationship with The Macallan in recent years and this year marked a momentous moment in whisky auction history when we offered The Red Collection with exclusive artist labels in our London sale. The Macallan Red Collection 78 Year Old currently stands as the oldest whisky ever to be offered at auction.
Other Scotch Whisky highlights from this sale include the 50 Year Old Winchester Collection from The Glenlivet and a number of exquisite Bowmore expressions, not least the Black, White and Gold Trilogy Series. From Speyside to Islay the whiskies in this sale represent the variety of styles that can be found across Scotland, but most importantly they embody the exceptional quality for which this liquid is so famous.
Via Japanese whiskies from Suntory’s major brands and French brandies from the Cognac and Armagnac regions, we make our way to Kentucky where all of Buffalo Trace’s major Bourbon brands can be found. Aged whiskeys from Pappy Van Winkle, Eagle Rare and OFC are all present.
It is a pleasure to be able to offer such a diverse array of spirits with such consistent quality from across the globe.
