This knowledgeable collector is a wonderful advocate for some of the best white wines in the world. Montrachet is clearly a favorite as the king of white Burgundy and is showcased by the best producers Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Ramonet and Comtes Lafon. White Bordeaux is also represented by Château Haut Brion Blanc in both bottle and magnum spanning 4 decades, including magnums of the revered 1989 vintage.
Champagne is evidently another favorite for this collector, having extensive vintages of Louis Roederer Cristal from bottle to Methuselah since the 1980s, Dom Pérignon and Krug.

In 2014, this has a fabulous caramel/salt nose which is utterly intriguing. Very 'saline' on the palate, lanolin-textured and lemon flavoured, with a wonderful follow-through of peanut butter.

A stupendous year for dry whites from Pessac-Léognan - and this is the tops. Rich, huge and all-enveloping, but with marvellous acidity giving it total freshness and a finish of fresh ginger.

50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Sémillon. Last tasted in 2014 and from magnum, this is pure honeysuckle on the nose. Extraordinary minerality on the palate, with orange zest all through.

Heavenly floral/lanolin/lime nose. Blossom and spice. Allspice perhaps. So immensely rich and orangey and so full of glycerol. Superb ginger elements. They say it is "almost perfect". They are wrong - it is flawless.

Great ginger and cinnamon nose. Rich, lanolin and vanillin on the palate. Absolutely ready in 2013. Intriguing - as it first evolves in the glass and then becomes more youthful.

In 2013, very spicy and full of gingerbread on the nose. Great finesse. Perfect fruit/acidity balance. Fabulous year, fabulous harmony. This has a terrific lemon kick-back on the palate. Such silky bliss. Ace wine.

Great, rich, acacia nose. Honey and almonds - so opulent. This has a longer, bigger finish than the Laville in this very early vintage. In 2013, it is very round and rich, a child of heat!

A 50/50 split between Sauvignon and Sémillon. Incredible, rich, fat and floral wine, with the depth and texture of a great Montrachet but a stupendous, all-enveloping, totally alluring character that is pure HBB. Smoky opulence and lemony at the end. One of the greats of the genre. It was marvellous with poached halibut and hollandaise sauce.

56% Sauvignon Blanc, 44% Sémillon. 9 months in 45% new oak. Marvellously subtle fragrance of honeysuckle and acacia. Class and breed too. Heavenly silkiness, with beautifully integrated vanilla and lots of nutmeg and gingerbread, plus a delectable honied sweetness. This is so fine-tuned and "civilised". A celestial joy to drink in 2013 and, no doubt, for many years to come.

55% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon. In 2013, a rich, warm, almost "lazy" nose - you just sink into it! Superb honey and oranges taste, with oriental spiciness. Cinnamon, saffron and allspice. All-enveloping. Lovely clementines freshness at the end, after the mouth-filling experience.
