Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut Rosé 1989
1 damaged wooden coffret
Last tasted at 20 years old. The bouquet reminded me of a Savigny-les-Beaune, plus wild strawberries. It is totally unlike 'white' Cristal, with its whiffs of cherries and walk-in-the-strawberry-bed appeal. On the palate, a glorious fruit bowl of a Champagne with softness and less evident acidity than 'white' Cristal. A fantastic briary wine, combining the warmth and mellowness of the vintage with the 'oomph' of Roederer. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
