Sotheby’s is proud to present this 14-karat gold Los Angeles Lakers 2020 NBA Staff-Issued Championship Ring.
Led by Finals MVP LeBron James and All-NBA big man Anthony Davis, the Lakers finished the 2019–20 regular season with a 52–19 record, securing the top seed in the Western Conference. Under head coach Frank Vogel, the team displayed resilience and unity throughout a season interrupted and ultimately resumed within the NBA’s Orlando “bubble.”
In the playoffs, Los Angeles defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, and Denver Nuggets to claim the Western Conference crown before overcoming the Miami Heat in six games in the NBA Finals. James captured his fourth Finals MVP award, further solidifying his place among the game’s all-time greats.
The 2020 championship marked the franchise’s 17th NBA title, tying the Boston Celtics for the most in league history at the time, and served as a poignant tribute to the late Kobe Bryant.
