This is undoubtedly the most iconic U.S. film noir poster ever created, featuring a full-length image of Rita Hayworth as Gilda, dressed in elegant evening attire and exuding glamour. The image has become one of the most famous images of 20th-century cinema. Rita Hayworth is also famous for saying, "men go to bed with Gilda, but wake up with me." This quote was used in the film Notting Hill (1999).
Gilda was Rita Hayworth's best known performance. She was a major Hollywood star of the 1940s, and a top pin-up for GIs during World War II. It is rumoured that after the Aga Khan watched Gilda, he fell in love with Hayworth, and flew to American to meet her. They married a few years later.
