Introduced in 2012, the Royal Oak reference 15400ST was presented by Audemars Piguet to mark the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak, the iconic design created in 1972 by Gérald Genta. Launched alongside the reference 15202 and the more compact 15450, the 15400 offered a contemporary interpretation of the model with a modern 41 mm case while preserving the unmistakable aesthetic that has defined the Royal Oak for decades.
The present example features a black “Grande Tapisserie” dial, its textured surface contrasting elegantly with the applied white gold hour markers and luminous Royal Oak hands. Visible through the sapphire case back, the watch is powered by the in-house automatic caliber 3120, distinguished by its 22-carat gold oscillating weight and refined finishing. Combining modern proportions with the enduring design language of the Royal Oak, the reference 15400ST remains a quintessential expression of Audemars Piguet’s most celebrated creation.
