Launched in 1950, the reference 2481 represents a significant evolution of the Calatrava, offering a larger 37 mm diameter case. It was remarkably oversized for its time compared to the more traditional 32 mm diameter examples. Often referred to as the “King Size,” the case was made by Le Locle Master Casemaker Bernard Dubois, identified by the number 171 in the hammer head, and introduced new proportions that would remain highly appealing to modern collectors.
The present reference 2481J exemplifies this balance, combining timeless elegance with a forward-thinking case size, making it a particularly desirable iteration within the Calatrava lineage.
Preserved in overall very appealing condition, the watch was recently serviced by Patek Philippe and retains its service case back sticker.
