Description

rectangular with cut corners, the lid painted en plein with a circular vignette with a seated lady dipping her feet in a river, against an opaque pale pink enamel background, in a tulip paillon frame, on a dark blue enamel ground over wavy engine-turning, flanked by matching lozenge-shaped vignettes of classical ewers painted en grisaille, matching dark blue enamel sides and base, the angles with white taille d'épargne scrolls, maker's mark, crowned crossed laurels, left rim numbered 3110 and 113 above, later French import marks, in a fitted green leather case stamped for Garrard and Co.,
