Description

oval, the lid later set with an oval enamel plaque depicting three putti around a winter fire, on a ground of alternating bands of opaque grey enamel with white lozenges and translucent whiskey-coloured enamel bands, within chased foliate and floral borders in white, green and brown enamel, the sides and base decorated to match, maker's mark MC crowned between two crowned flourishes, the left rim numbered 399, later French hibou control marks
