Description

the 9 1/2 in. dial with silvered chapter ring signed Willem Koster AMSTELDAM, the matte centre incorporating subsidiary day and month apertures; the arch painted with a scene of Poseidon above female allegorical figures and river gods in the spandrels; the three-train movement with converted anchor escapements, Dutch striking and playing four melodies on the hour on ten belles with time selector lever to right of the chapter ring; later seatboard and frame; the walnut case with arched and stepped top mounted with gilt bronze vase and pinecone finials, a female mask and winged putti masks on the canted corners above standing female figures; restorations to case
