Description

rectangular with cut corners, the lid centred with an oval enamel plaque of a baby in a basket afloat on a river being found by three women, perhaps an interpretation of Moses in the Nile River, in a jewelled and enamelled green and white frame, on translucent steel blue enamel over moiré engine-turning, within chased and enamelled flower borders embellished with rose-cut diamonds on a sablé ground, the sides and base decorated en suite, the angles further decorated with diamond-set flower vases, apparently unmarked apart from post-1847 French eagle's head control mark for 18 ct gold,
