oval, the hinged lid formed of a large citrine intaglio carved with Leda and the Swan, on a green enamel ground painted with floral sprays, alternating with gold anthemion framed by slender opaque white enamel bands, the tapering sides and oval base chased with bold scrollwork and anthemion on an engraved scrollwork or grained ground, the interior with a pierced grille with matching decoration around a smaller hinged compartment, apparently unmarked apart from French post-1918 eagle's head control marks,
