Nitro Microphone Underground emerged from Tokyo as one of Japanese hip-hop’s most influential collectives. Their self-titled 1999 indie album sold out immediately and was reissued the following year by Def Jam Japan, reaching number 12 on the charts.

Their collaborations with Nike include the 2008 Air Force 1 Supreme from the Influencer Pack, dressed in digital camouflage, and the 2009 tenth-anniversary Air Force 1 High, featuring metallic gold with black-on-black elephant print and ‘1999’ and ‘2009’ on the tongues.
