The fine quality and decoration on this exceptional jardinière tie it closely to the fine group of blue and white jardinières and fishbowls of similar size and form, decorated with very similar arrangement of Buddhist lions or fish and aquatic plants. 制式大方，青花發色明艷，此類大缸在萬曆時期多見，有獅子繡球紋的卷缸或帶有魚藻紋的魚缸，大多燒造盡量，極具文人風趣。見香港佳士得曾售出一件明萬曆青花蓮池魚藻紋大缸，2011年6月1日，編號3590。
