This motif, symbolising abundance, prosperity, and the wish for many sons, was especially popular during the Wanli reign. It appears not only on dishes of various sizes, but also on bowls and vases. Comparable examples can be found in the Taipei Palace Museum, accession nos guci 3964-3969. Additional dishes of this type include two from the Pilkington Collection: one exhibited at China Without Dragons: Rare Pieces from Oriental Ceramic Society Members, Oriental Ceramic Society, London, 2016, cat. no. 172; the other sold in these rooms, 6th April 2016, lot 49. A further example was sold in our London rooms, 2nd December 1997, lot 213.

此類花果盤紋寓意吉祥,象徵豐饒繁榮、瓜瓞綿綿,於萬曆時期尤為盛行,見於各種尺寸的盤、盌及瓶。台北故宮博物院藏數類例,館藏編號:故瓷3964至3969。琵金頓收藏亦見兩例:其一展覽於《龍隱:東方陶瓷學會會員稀珍藏品展》,東方陶瓷學會,倫敦,2016年,編號172;另一盤釋於香港蘇富比2016年4月6日,編號49。另見一例,售於倫敦蘇富比1997年12月2日,編號213。
