The highly sought-after Rolex Explorer 16550 was in production for approximately four years, from 1985 to 1989. Regarded as a transitional model due to its short production period, the watch boasts a 24-hour bezel and luminous big arrow hands. It acquired the nickname "panna dial," meaning "cream" in Italian, because many examples of the 16550 with original white dials have naturally aged into a creamy color over time, attributed to a deficit paint Rolex used at the time. The present watch is retailed by Tiffany & Co., making the watch an even more exceptional and highly sought-after piece.
