In 1988, Rolex launched the automatic Daytona, a self-winding chronograph based on a Zenith movement that Rolex improved on for their luxury watches. While the vast majority of these appear in stainless steel, the present lot represents a very rare exampled realised in yellow gold with diamond and emerald-set dial.
