Description

Château d'Yquem 2007

Sauternes, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Excellent level and appearance, embossed metal capsule, tissue and straw wrapped, banded until inspection

One comes to the 2007 thinking of other Yquems that end in 7 - 1937, 1947, 1967, 1997 and now this. It certainly lives up to its predecessors and, in fact, the harvest in 2007 finished the same day as in 1967. It has 137 gm of sugar. September was very good and 10 days of rain provoked great botrytis, followed by 17 days without rain between 12-29 October. The harvest ended on 7 November. In 2015, this is very great Yquem, with mint and verbena on the nose, as in 1990. Terrific, tarry, caramel taste. Mega silky, honey sweet, with nutmeg and cinnamon. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
