A courtsword, mid-19th century


with tapering blade of hollow-triangular section, steel hilt set with faceted studs of differing size in imitation of brilliants, comprising pierced oval shell-guard formed as a stylised flowerhead, a pair of straight quillons, two-piece knuckle-chain, faceted urn-shaped pommel, and faceted integral grip, in its leather scabbard, with middle-band and locket joined by a chain and complete with a belt hook
