requesting some concept drawings for the magical car, as Jonathan Cape "can't find anybody with enough technical know-how and imagination to draw a suitable Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang", asking Villiers to produce a design for the cover of the book, asking for it to be "really snazzy looking", signing off "affectionately, Ian"

The Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang typescript was sent to Villiers with this accompanying letter. Amherst Villiers was a close advisor and friend of Fleming's, as well as an automotive engineer.
