FIRST EDITION, ONE OF 4,000 COPIES, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, original boards, lacking dust-jacket, endleaves slightly dampstained, a very good copy 

Signed by the author and scarce thus. A mailing label in Housman's hand, sending the book from Cambridge to Ohio after he signed it, is laid-in, as is a postcard with Housman's photograph. The only one of the author's collections published during his lifetime to include WW1 poems. The publisher omitted punctuation from the first two lines on p.52, offering to insert an errata slip, but Housman replied: "No, the blunder will probably enhance the value of the first edition to bibliophiles–an idiotic class."
