the body on a short foot, of deep form with straight sides, the domed lid terminating in a pointed finial surrounded with three drill holes, painted in yellow, red, green and blue with black outlines, decorated with stylised palmettes within hourglass-shaped arches filled with scale-and-dot pattern, the foot and rim highlighted in cobalt blue, stem-shaped maker's mark to the interior of the lid and the underside
