Frøydis Aarseth (b. 1986) knew from an early age what she wanted in life. In 2006 she moved to Florence, Italy to study full time at The Florence Academy of Art. After graduating from the academy in 2009, she continued her studies in Paris, France under the direction of Odd Nerdrum.
Aarseth grew up in a small village next to the Førdefjord in Norway. This had a big impact on her choice of themes. She painted mountains, fjords, and figures in the cold Norwegian winter. Today, Aarseth is more impacted by the modern world, human behavior, pollution, and the environment.
Aarseth has had several exhibitions and group shows in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Italy, and New York, USA. Her work has been published in different books and magazines. She has also been presented as a young and promising talent in Scandinavia’s largest art magazine, KUNST.
Frøydis Aarseth lives in Norway working as a full-time artist and runs Aarseth Malerskole, her own school of figurative art.
